In ancient history, there was a man named Joseph who was a shepherd before rising out of obscurity. He was imprisoned for a time before he was put in charge of all Egypt. God was his source of wisdom; therefore, he knew ahead of time there would be a famine all over the world and was able to prepare, storing up an abundance of food for the nation ahead of time. Because the famine was severe in all the world, all the countries came to Egypt to buy food. Because of Joseph’s God-given insight, Egypt prospered.

Joseph’s Story can be found in Genesis, chapters 37-50.
